The House of the Devil
The House of the Devil is one of those rare films in the world of horror genre. It is true that after watching it I got very intrigued with the fact that in this realistic but gloomy world created by Ti West there are place for mixer taps (with a single handle mixer) in the 80's! ...as an interested industrial designer I promise that I will check this one out.
If I may say that Se7en has changed the way of making horror movies, both in terms of stylistic and narrative, dare I say then The House of the Devil is like a return to the old and classical way but with minimalist contours never seen before in such type of films. To me it's a true masterpiece to the level of Polanski's Rosemary's Baby or Hitchcock's Psycho. So if you haven't seen this movie yet just go for it, buy it, rent it but please skip the trailer this time you will not need it!
...instead hear the opening music of the movie composed by Jeff Grace
